MODEL 851A INSTRUMENTATION POWER SUPPLY

Description

The Model 851A is a tightly-regulated single output linear power supply for applications requiring low ripple and noise. Large heatsinks and fans inside the unit provide cooling. Two flow sensors in the air path provide an alarm signal if either fan stops.

The Model 851A is a direct replacement for the Model 851. It uses modern technologies providing voltage regulation and output ripple parameters exceeding the original specifications.

Input: 105 to 132 VAC 46.5-67Hz, 10A RMS at full load

Output: 125VDC ±3VDC at 0-3.5ADC

Regulation:	0.5% plus 50mV over line variations
	0.5% plus 100mV over load variations

Ripple: 25mV RMS, 75mV peak-peak max

Sensing: Remote sensing regulates voltage at remote load point

Cooling: Two cooling fans with airflow sensors

Protection:	Overcurrent	Output electronically current limited at 4.5ADC, with foldback to less than 1.5ADC at short circuit
	Overvoltage	If output exceeds 5V over nominal, crowbar SCR clamps supply to zero
	Input fuse	15A slow blow
