MODEL 650 COMPUTER-CONTROLLED DIFFERENTIAL AMPLIFIER

Description

The Model 650 is a computer-controlled instrumentation amplifier. All operating parameters (gain, filter, zero) are programmable from a remote computer via RS-485 serial interface or standard Ethernet interface, with multiple racks daisy-chained to a single control computer.

Input impedance: 100k ohms to output common, each input

Gain ranges: Remotely selectable calibrated gains of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000, 5000

Frequency response: 4-pole Butterworth lowpass filter remotely selectable at 100Hz, 1kHz, 10kHz or OUT (50kHz)

Coupling: DC or AC coupled mode (5Hz -3dB point) remotely selectable

Zero mode: Remotely selectable input-shorting relay allows zero offset measurement

Offset: 12-bit programmable offset spans ±500mVDC at output

Output: ±10V peak (7VRMS) into 2k ohms (or greater) load

Indicators: Four-digit LED indicates gain setting; one of four LEDs indicate filter selected; two LEDs indicate AC-coupled mode and/or Zeroing relay selected

Noise: Approx. 1 microvolt RMS RTI with 10kHz filter at Gain=1000

Connectors: 6-pin bulkhead (PT02) for input, isolated BNC connector for output signals

RS-485 serial computer interface (Model 4015-128 rack) : RS-485 multi-rack serial interface, 9600bps; connection by three-position screw terminal block

Address: 16-position switch on rear panel allows selection of unique address for each rack on bus

Drivers: Driver for LabVIEW for Windows allows graphical control of all functions

Protocol: Simple ASCII text strings select one unique channel, and control all settings

Ethernet computer interface (Model 4015-128-002 rack) : standard TCP/IP communication, with built-in web server for interactive amplifier control via any web browser on intranet or Internet

Connection: RJ45 socket for 10BaseT twisted pair cable

Status: Two LEDs indicate link status and activity

Address: IP address, netmask, and gateway settable with RS232 console port on rear panel

Rack power requirement: 115 VAC ±10%, 0.5A max
