MODEL 119-002 LVDT/LVRT CONDITIONER

Description

The Model 119-002 LVDT/LVRT conditioner is
a two-channel module that plugs into Encore's 19" GPSC instrumentation rack, which accommodates up to eight modules (16 channels). An AC power supply is built into
the rack, and provides the required unregulated
DC voltages to operate the modules.

The Model 119-002 provides all transducer excitation, phase demodulation, gain, and filtering required to read position information from a Linear Variable Displacement Transducer. Multiple channels in a rack may
be synchronized to reduce inter-channel crosstalk. Buffered front panel monitoring
points are provided for oscillator output,
LVDT secondary, and amplifier DC output.

Specifications

Transducer excitation: 3VRMS nominal; adjustable from 2.8-6.3VRMS with on-board trimpot

Excitation frequency: 2.5kHz; settable from
1-10kHz on board with components on plugin header

Oscillator sync: One channel per rack designated as Master, all others as Slaves; jumper selectable on board

Gain: Front-panel adjustable over a 9:1 span, plus switch-selectable gain range of 1, 4, or 10

Demodulation phase: Front-panel adjustable
to properly match transducer to demodulator

Offset: Front panel zero adjustment, with two jumper-selectable ranges

Filtering: Three-pole active lowpass filter, with frequency dependent on oscillator frequency; components on plugin header

Signal output: ±10V max, 10mA peak load

Test points: Three pairs of mini-banana jacks
per channel provide common-referenced LVDT primary, LVDT secondary, and DC output monitoring

Power: Unregulated ±24V from rack-mounted supply

Mechanical: 19"W x 5.25"H x 9"D, eight-module (16 channel) rack adapter, Model 4015 GPSC series; or two-module (four channel) desktop case, Model 4017-106
